Effective Date: 15/08/2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to participation in the National 50:50 Raffle. Please read them carefully before purchasing an entry or setting up a subscription.
1. Promoter
1.1 The National 50:50 Raffle (“50:50 Raffle”) is promoted by:
National 50:50 CIC
Company Registration No: **17197258 **
Unit 49, Atcham Business Park
Shrewsbury
SY4 4UG
(“National 50:50”, “we”, “us” or the “Promoter”).
1.2 National 50:50 CIC is registered by Shropshire Council for the purposes of operating a Small Society Lottery.
Small Society Lottery Registration No: GASSLR1319
1.3 The 50:50 Raffle is operated for the purpose of raising funds for good causes, including participating sports foundations, charities, community organisations and other eligible organisations (“Participating Foundations”).
2. General
2.1 By purchasing an entry into the National 50:50 Raffle, an entrant (“Entrant”, “you” or “your”) agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and any additional rules displayed for the relevant draw.
2.2 Participation is entirely voluntary.
2.3 The National 50:50 Raffle is a fundraising lottery designed to generate funds for Participating Foundations and other eligible good causes while giving Entrants the opportunity to win a cash prize.
2.4 All entries are subject to applicable UK gambling legislation and the requirements applicable to the registration under which the lottery is operated.
2.5 National 50:50 reserves the right to refuse or cancel an entry where it reasonably believes accepting the entry would breach these Terms and Conditions, applicable legislation or regulatory requirements.
3. Eligibility and Age Verification
3.1 Entrants must meet the minimum legal age applicable to participation in the National 50:50 Raffle.
3.2 National 50:50 operates age-verification safeguards and carries out age verification checks on purchases.
3.3 By purchasing an entry, you confirm that you satisfy the applicable minimum-age requirement.
3.4 National 50:50 may request further information or documentation to verify an Entrant’s age, identity or eligibility.
3.5 National 50:50 reserves the right to suspend an account, reject an entry or withhold payment of a prize where an Entrant fails an age or eligibility verification check.
3.6 An entry purchased by a person who is not legally eligible to participate will be treated in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
4. How the 50:50 Raffle Works
4.1 Each raffle entry costs £1.
4.2 Entries may be purchased individually or, where offered, through a monthly subscription providing entries into weekly draws.
4.3 For each individual 50:50 draw, the total proceeds received from eligible ticket sales will first be reduced by the reasonable costs and expenses attributable to operating and administering the raffle.
These may include, where applicable:
- payment and transaction processing fees;
- technology and platform costs;
- regulatory and registration costs;
- administration;
- marketing and promotional costs;
- draw administration and verification; and
- other reasonable costs directly associated with operating the 50:50 Raffle.
4.4 The amount remaining after these reasonable costs and expenses have been deducted is referred to as the Net Raffle Proceeds.
4.5 The Net Raffle Proceeds are then divided:
50% to the winning Entrant
and
50% to the relevant Participating Foundation(s) or good cause(s).
4.6 The Winner’s prize is therefore calculated as 50% of the Net Raffle Proceeds after applicable reasonable operating costs have been deducted.
4.7 Where a prize value is displayed before ticket sales have closed, that figure may be an estimate. The final prize will depend upon eligible ticket sales and applicable costs for that draw.
4.8 The final prize value will be confirmed following closure of ticket sales and calculation of the Net Raffle Proceeds.
5. Purchasing Entries
5.1 National 50:50 operates a digital-only raffle.
5.2 No cash purchases are accepted.
5.3 Entries may be purchased through authorised National 50:50 digital channels, which may include:
- the National 50:50 website;
- Participating Foundation webpages;
- QR codes;
- NFC-enabled links;
- authorised digital payment links; and
- other National 50:50 approved digital channels.
5.4 Each individual raffle entry costs £1.
5.5 Entrants may purchase one or more £1 entries in a single transaction. Transaction fees may apply to individual or multiple-entry purchases and, where applicable, will be clearly displayed to the Entrant before payment is completed.
5.6 The total amount payable, including any applicable transaction fee, will be shown before the Entrant confirms payment.
5.7 Payment must be successfully authorised before an entry becomes valid.
5.8 Following successful payment, the Entrant will receive electronic confirmation of their entry and associated raffle ticket number(s).
5.9 Entrants are responsible for ensuring that the personal and contact information supplied when purchasing entries is accurate.
5.10 Entries cannot be transferred to another person after purchase.
5.11 Unless otherwise required by law, completed raffle purchases are final and non-refundable.
6. Monthly Subscriptions and Weekly Draws
6.1 Where available, Entrants may choose to participate through a monthly subscription.
6.2 The standard subscription is £5 per month and provides the subscriber with one £1 entry into each applicable weekly National 50:50 draw during their active subscription.
6.3 The subscription price has been structured to accommodate the annual pattern of weekly draws, including calendar months in which five weekly draws may take place.
6.4 The monthly subscription is therefore a recurring participation arrangement and should not be interpreted as the purchase of exactly five entries in every calendar month.
6.5 National 50:50 and/or its authorised payment provider will automatically collect the agreed subscription payment using the payment method authorised by the subscriber.
6.6 Subscription entries will only be issued while the subscription remains active and the relevant subscription payment has been successfully processed.
6.7 If a subscription payment is declined, rejected, cancelled or otherwise unsuccessful, entries may not be issued for the applicable draw(s) until the subscription payment has been successfully processed.
6.8 Subscribers may cancel their subscription at any time using the cancellation facility provided by National 50:50.
6.9 Cancellation will prevent future subscription payments but will not normally cancel or refund entries already issued or purchased.
6.10 National 50:50 will provide subscribers with appropriate information concerning recurring payments, cancellation and any material changes to their subscription.
7. Draw Periods and Closing Times
7.1 Each raffle will have a specified opening and closing time.
7.2 Entries successfully purchased before the applicable closing time will be included in that draw.
7.3 Entries received after a draw has closed may, where clearly stated during purchase, be allocated to the next available draw.
7.4 National 50:50 will take reasonable steps to clearly communicate applicable draw closing times.
7.5 National 50:50 may change a draw date or closing time where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.
8. Selection of the Winner
8.1 Each valid £1 entry will be allocated a unique raffle ticket or entry number.
8.2 Following closure of the draw, one valid entry will be selected at random from all eligible entries included in that draw.
8.3 The selection will be undertaken using an appropriate random selection process operated in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
8.4 The selected entry will be the Winning Entry, and the eligible holder of that entry will be the Winner.
8.5 National 50:50’s determination of the Winning Entry will be final, subject to applicable law and regulatory requirements.
9. Odds of Winning
9.1 The odds of any individual £1 entry winning depend upon the total number of valid entries included in that particular draw.
9.2 Every valid £1 entry has an equal chance of being selected.
9.3 Purchasing additional entries increases the number of entries held by an Entrant but does not guarantee a prize.
10. Winner Notification and Prize Payment
10.1 As National 50:50 operates digitally, the Winner will normally be identifiable from the information associated with the Winning Entry.
10.2 National 50:50 will contact the Winner using their registered email address, telephone number and/or other contact information held in connection with their entry.
10.3 Before paying a prize, National 50:50 may require:
- proof of identity;
- proof of age;
- confirmation of contact details;
- appropriate bank or payment details; and
- any additional information reasonably required to verify the Winner’s eligibility.
10.4 A prize will only be paid once National 50:50 is satisfied that the Winner and Winning Entry have been properly verified.
10.5 Prize payments will normally be made electronically to a verified bank account or through another secure payment method approved by National 50:50.
10.6 National 50:50 will never require a legitimate Winner to pay a fee in order to release their prize.
11. Unclaimed Prizes
11.1 National 50:50 will make reasonable efforts to contact the Winner using the contact details supplied when entering.
11.2 If a Winner cannot be contacted or fails to provide information reasonably required to verify and pay the prize within 30 days of notification, the prize may be treated as unclaimed, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.
11.3 Any unclaimed prize will be dealt with in accordance with the applicable lottery regulations and the rules governing the relevant draw.
12. Participating Foundations and Good Causes
12.1 National 50:50 works with Participating Foundations and other eligible organisations to generate funds for community purposes.
12.2 Where Entrants are given the opportunity to select a Participating Foundation or good cause, that selection will be recorded as part of their participation.
12.3 The relevant good-cause allocation will be distributed in accordance with the arrangements applicable to that draw and National 50:50’s agreements with participating organisations.
12.4 Details of participating organisations may change from time to time.
13. Responsible Play
13.1 National 50:50 cares about the wellbeing of its supporters and is committed to responsible participation in its raffles.
13.2 Participation should always be enjoyable, affordable and within an Entrant’s personal financial means.
13.3 Entrants should never spend more than they can afford to lose and should not regard participation in the raffle as a means of making money or resolving financial difficulties.
13.4 National 50:50 maintains safeguards designed to promote responsible participation. These may include:
- age verification;
- responsible-play information;
- self-exclusion;
- account and participation controls;
- monitoring and intervention where appropriate; and
- access to information concerning independent gambling support services.
13.5 National 50:50 reserves the right to restrict or suspend participation where reasonably necessary to support responsible play or comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
14. Self-Exclusion
14.1 National 50:50 recognises that some individuals may wish to prevent themselves from participating in lotteries and raffles.
14.2 Entrants may request to self-exclude from National 50:50.
14.3 Once a valid self-exclusion request has been processed, National 50:50 will take reasonable steps to prevent the individual from purchasing further National 50:50 entries for the applicable self-exclusion period.
14.4 Where an Entrant has an active subscription, a self-exclusion request will result in the subscription being cancelled and future recurring payments being stopped as soon as reasonably practicable.
14.5 National 50:50 will use appropriate safeguards to help prevent self-excluded individuals from creating or using accounts to circumvent their exclusion.
14.6 Individuals who self-exclude will also be removed from direct marketing relating to National 50:50 lottery participation as soon as reasonably practicable.
14.7 Details of how to request self-exclusion, the available exclusion periods and how National 50:50 manages self-exclusion are available on our Responsible Play & Self-Exclusion page.
.8 National 50:50 encourages anyone concerned about their gambling to seek appropriate independent help and support.
14.8 National 50:50 encourages anyone concerned about their gambling to seek appropriate independent help and support.

15.6 Information relating to self-exclusion may be retained and processed where reasonably necessary to administer and enforce the exclusion and comply with National 50:50’s legal and regulatory obligations.
16. Technical Problems
16.1 National 50:50 will take reasonable steps to ensure its digital raffle systems operate correctly.
16.2 National 50:50 will not be responsible for entries that are not completed due to internet failure, payment rejection, telecommunications failure or other technical circumstances outside its reasonable control.
16.3 An entry is only valid when payment has been successfully processed and a raffle entry/ticket number has been issued.
16.4 If a technical error materially affects the integrity of a draw, National 50:50 may suspend, postpone or cancel the affected draw where reasonably necessary and permitted by law.
17. Changes, Suspension or Cancellation
